Super find over the weekend! I love listening to records. They remind me of when I was younger and I would dance and sing around the house to The Beatles, The Bee Gees, The Supremes, The Temptations, Jackson 5, Simon and Garfunkel, etc. Oh the memories. I loved the sound of the needle hitting the record. I loved the crackly sound of waiting for that beautiful music to start. The little crackles and pops that sprinkle through it. Oh words can’t even describe. I was so in love with John and Paul…I just loved to listen to my vinyl. So, as you can guess, I totally already have an awesome record player. But my son has been wanting one. So when I found this fabulous thing at an estate sale for only $4, I was like, DUH?!
And wait, it gets better. They had vinyl. Oh did they ever have vinyl. It looks as though they kept everything they ever purchased….and kept it in good condition. (Or maybe just kept it in a storage box that was never touched …but either way!) I love me some Neil Diamond….oh score! Jackson 5? Rolling Stone? Pink Floyd? The Who? Creedence Clearwater Revival? Dolly Parton? Check, check, check.
They had quite a few things I already had in my collection, but I’m super excited to give it to my son….and of course I’ll keep everything else. Only 25 cents per record? HOW, how on earth did I get so lucky? This seriously is the best find I’ve had in so long. Sigh….words can’t do my giddiness justice.
Do you love the sound of vinyl? Or are you more of a digital person? What are your favorite bands, and records, and finds? I’d love to hear all about them.
XOXO (Cuz it’s Valentine’s Day), Val
